Hi! I'm the Associate Dean for Science and Math at Palm Beach State College, at our beautiful Palm Beach Gardens campus (approx 9,000 students). I oversee 24 full-time STEM faculty, 6 dept chairs, plus 7 academic staff. Our campus offers the basic sciences and workforce programs in Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Engineering, and Electrical Power Tech. Our focus is excellence in teaching. My grad research was on the regulation of matrix metalloprotease (MMP) gene expression in lung diseases such as emphysema and cancer. I taught biotech labs and forensic science lectures, and had the privilege to lead several National Science Foundation programs including
GeoPaths (2019-24, $50K),
InnovATE (2015-18, $870K), and
STEM Articulation & Transfer (2019-2025, $1.5M). Always looking to collaborate to support faculty and students excel in STEM.
