This talk is about the US National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) program, a multi-tiered competition for high school students excelling in chemistry. USNCO has a variety of support programs: webinars, coaching program for students, online Teacher Training Course on ACS Learning platform, annotations to past exams to help teachers and students with concepts rarely covered by high school chemistry curricula. Teachers can get involved with the program as coaches who receive an honorarium for their work and they can also apply to become a high school mentor for the USNCO Study cam and IChO.
Teachers will leave this talk with a set of printed exams that can be used in the classroom and in training students and be the foundation for creating their own coaching program.
