About me
Lacey Fitts is currently an assistant professor in the College of Education at MS State University. She has been a science educator for over 25 years in some capacity or another, teaching mostly chemistry, AP Chemistry, physics, and related college and high school courses. She serves as a Chemistry Olympiad coach, an AP chemistry reader and table leader, and is an ethusiastic informal science educator, helping with SMACS, Chem Club, and Boy Scouts merit badge college. Lacey spends her free time camping with family and friends and enjoys identifying and foraging for wild plants and mushrooms. Her research focuses on place-based chemistry, socioscientific issues, and all things that affect learning outcomes for rural and high poverty students.
